I chose this great book because it talks about countries and their different customs. The book talks specifically about wishing customs in each country. Some of the customs are things like throwing flowers at a wedding, blowing seeds off of a dandelion and so many other things that so many of us do today.
The illustrations in this book are honestly just captivating! There are double pages and on each page there is a different custom and its own illustration. This book is full of colorful pictures that capture the imagination.
This book is appropriate for grades kindergarten through third grade. There are really so many different subjects that this book could be incorporated into. Culture could be taught using this text. The different types of cultural experiences and items can be learned. Traditions can be studied as well, so this book could also be incorporated into history. Using this text when talking about communities is also a great idea. This text is infused with sense of community and celebrations for all types of people. This book has not received any awards.
